Should I Model?
51 Answers
I have been told I should model, but I have very low self confidence and low self esteem. I am only 5'2, but they say I can do catalog work and stuff. But idk, what do you guys think? These pics are from the past year to now.)

No but only because you have trouble with self confidence etc... its a hard and vicious world you are thinking of entering and you don't sound as if you would cope
and TBH 5'2 is still too small for catalogue work except for petite ranges, older and more limited market...
Find something that you would enjoy doing where you don't need to be centre stage once you have something you can do well your confidence will grow and so will your self esteem

sorry dsagree ratter.
The grl is pretty yes, but no stunner, and at 5'2 she's have to be bloody freakishly stunning to make it as a model. Plus, you need to be made of granite and so self assured to get anywhere in that cut throat business.
Here's a girl, with no self esteem, and asking if she should model- doomed to failure from the start.

I agree Boo, but if she doesn't follow this course and try she may regret it for the rest of her life, this way she will here it from the professionals and at the end of the day who knows what they are looking for these days. maybe she does have the look, I once dated a girl, not particularly attractive but long stunning legs, she made a mint as a model for "Pretty Polly" Tights.
It doesnt hurt to enquire.

I agree with RATTER.
You are not just pretty ... you also have an interesting face, which would appeal to photographers.
Don't be talked into "getting on the career ladder" or "getting a proper job". You have the rest of your life to do that.
Just remember ... modelling is hard work. It's not glamorous. It involves long hours, loads of travelling (sitting in traffic or on trains, not jetting around the world), and you will lose count of the number of auditions and castings that you go to before you get your first paid job. Sarah Doukas spotting Kate Moss in an airport loungs was a one off. That's not how it happens in real life.
Plus, you will have to spend your whole time working out and working on your skin (being made up all the yime absolutely shags your complexion!).
But, if you can cope with all that ... don't try to mentally plan out your life ... JFDI !!
(JFDI means "just f***ing do it")
