HELP! i just bent down and my big toenail has come off....omg...it's gross! it is now only attached by the nail bed. have phoned nhs direct for direction to get it sorted, but what will happen? can't believe bits are falling off x

Sorry Boo but I originally lost a big toenail about 20 years ago when I got it caught under a door as it opened. Had to go to hospital and have it removed as it was hanging off. Now that hurt!!

Both my big toe nails fell off after I ran the marathon last year, they took a few months to grow back but now are fully back and normal - I freaked out when it happened too lol

I threw a lump of 4x4 with a nail innit once, and it went right though my middle digit, and I had to hold it whilst in the ambulance, and at the hospital the doctor had to cut the skin open to get it off, and then stitch it up. Will someone please pass the smelling salts to Boo.

Gran Ma,hope you are feeling OK,I am sure the nail will grow back as good as new,but I would see a doctor just to make sure there is no infection.Hope you are not in too much pain.
