One of the add-ons is savings credit. If you go onto the directgov website there is a pensions calculator and you can see if someone is entitled to extras.
Sorry we crossed. The add ons are additional amount if you have a spouse under retirement age who is not working. Also you may be eligible for pension credit depending on other income etc. Mostly they are means tested but if you have worked all your life and didnt opt out you may have also built up additional state pension. You can get a pension forecast on the Government gateway website
yes, you must have 30 years NI contributiions, and may be entitled to more if your Company made contributions into SERPS but this would be taken into account for any means testing.
we were talking about this at work today, a few years ago i was going to retire at 60, then they moved the goal posts and now it's 65. pisses me off big time i want to lozz about for a few years before I'm too decrepid to get about
If thats the case Boo there probabally wont be any state pension by then. I think it will be eroded away in the same way the health service has been deminished
Im not quite pension age yet but gave up early. So I am on of those kept by the spouse ones lol ! Mind you I have built up enough to get full pension when the time comes. A few years yet though. The I'll be rich (not)
