The health visitor told my sister not to make mealtimes into a battleground, but also not to offer anything between meals, not even fruit or glasses of milk. She said once a child was hungry enough they would eat!
Is your granddaughter still taking milk from a bottle? If so, try cutting back and/or replacing with water.
Apart from silently screaming and wanting to bash your head against a wall I think you will have to just except that some children are just like this for a while with food. I have 3 of the little devils and they have all been the same, my youngest is almost 2 and 2/3 spoonfulls are her limit.
I just offer small amounts at a time, if all going well sneak a bit more on the plate, but if refused I do a small amount of gental encouragement and then remove it so as not to have a fuss made (silently screaming and wanting to bash head comes into force here) but I always offer something afterwards as I would if she had eaten it all as she loves her fruit and yoghurt.
