internal scar tissue - how to break it up yourself...?
10 Answers
i have this in neck and its driving me mad
is there a technique that i can do myself to break it up? or will it just keep coming back?
i rub it and mssage it etc, but it never goes away and any relief is very temporary
i have hypermobilty too which doesnt help with the pain and stiffness etc
i cannot afford to pay for treatment, though my physio is helping a bit...
thanks

Internal scar tissue may be either adhesions as the result of an injury or infection or fibrous tissue as the result of wear and tear. The former may well be " broken down" by various procedures. but fibrous tissue is there to stay.
Which do you think you have and why?

well about 7 years ago i had a MINOR whiplash injury and had to see a physio ...
i already had hypermobilty and a bad neck but he said i had scar tissue inside and ground my neck around to 'break it up' (the scar tissue could have already been there you see)
i was also told when i was about 17 i had wear and tear in the base of my spine so its entirely possible i have it in my neck too (im 39 now)
my neck and every other joint in my body grinds constantly and feels like broken biscuits, but left side of my neck is tight and although it clicks it does not stop the tightness... no amount of stretching has stopped this...it just grinds and crunches.
so i am not sure which it is really... so i wondered if there was some movement or excercise i could try that will help break this up
i suspect i am very slightly unbalanced as i have alot of trouble with one my sacrum too on left side too...and the bones compensating for this are whats causing the trouble..

Hi Joko, You seem to have one hell of a painful problem, don't you, so I'm writing this knowing full well that I may be unmercifully ridiculed, but if it helps you at all then it will certainly be worth the ridicule for a few days.
“Crunching joints” sounds to me like arthritis and many years ago I read that uric acid in the blood forms crystals in the various joints and it is these crystals which wear away the smooth lining of the joints until the actual bones grind against each other causing the usual arthritic pain.
This may or may not be true but after a slight twinge of joint pain about 20 years ago I started taking Cider Vinegar (with water and honey) but later changed to the CV tablets as they are more convenient in every way. Apparently, liquid CV can dissolve egg shells and therefore, it is assumed that it will dissolve and remove the crystals caused by the uric acid.
I still take 3 CV tablets twice a week (normal dose can be up to 6 tabs per day) and at 81 my joints are as flexible and supple as they were in my youth.
This is not an advert for CV tablets but a sincere suggestion which could possibly help relieve your obvious pain in the future.
Cider Vinegar can take a few weeks to kick in so a bit of patience is needed.
I hope this helps in some way with your condition.

cheers wak - it is very similar to arthritis - and does feel like theres so no fluid or cushioning left in my joints and i remember years ago someone i knew with scoliosis swore by cider vinegar...i will give it a try thanks
not sure why you would be ridiculed - sometimes stuff like this is better than any medication.
i was advised also of silica...a natural kind of rubbery substance - not cheap tho... havent tried it long enough to notice the difference yet though
problem with me is the pain and stiffness varies widely every day - one day im fine, next im in agony so its hard to gauge when things are working or not..i think i will start a diary and see if a pattern emerges...
thanks everyone

Joko...your problems are down to wear and tear over many tears and joint spaces being replaced by fibrous tissue and no amount of massage or cider vinegar is going to change that...........in my opinion.
We are all ageing some quicker than others and also because of differing conditions......if cider vinegar could stop or slow down the ageing process, then count me in.........however. i fear that it can't.
