I find it very difficult to understand women who still feed their children once they are past the baby stage, but I know some do - I worked with a woman who still fed her seven-year-old.
My daughter weaned herself at 14 months...which is how it should be IMO. Unless necessary to wean-going to work,etc-I think babies do it naturally when ready.
I found it to be a sad time-it had taken me ages to really settle in with breast feeding-so it was a bit of a wrench as it symbolised her growing up.
There's no set age tink. My s.i.l. fed her daughter untill she was 4, the little girl used to climb on her lap and undo her blouse buttons and help herself.
I did see a TV prog a while back where a mother was still breast-feeding her son and he was 8 years old.
aah jem, not wanting to judge, each to their own i always say- for me personally thats quite old!
actually..i 100% believe that breast is best for kids- however...im 99% sure i will not breastfeed if i have kids, i really dont think i will. i would hate it i think xx
if a child is sitting up on a sofa. undoing a button for breast feeding, im sorry i find that quite ridiculous, it reminds me of the sketch with david walliams ? *sp.
Anneasquith, where have you got the idea that breast milk deteriorates over time from? The milk will stay nutritious for as long as you eat a healthy diet.
