Short term - ill health and less money
long term - death
Not to mention the horrid, constant stench on your breath, hair and clothes and considered as vermin for smoking anywhere near children.

the latest I read about today is that it causes subfertlity in women equivalent to 10 years of life.ie a 20 yr old smoker has the fertility of a 30 yr old non smoker and so on.

the list is endless and in the same vein as above impotence in men is more common in smokers.

the only good effect I ever heard was it reduces some forms of colitis.

1.

The fact that non-smokers find a smoky atmosphere extremely unpleasant.

2.

The effects of passive smoking.

it smells, and you'll die

I think smoking is a stupid habit, although addictive is potentially harmful, it shouldn't be allowed, you loose friends, and miss out on opportunities with your social life. wot a stupid idea!!!! who the hell invented it, they died when they were young or they'd still be here now!, see the effects!!!!!!!!
