I broke mine in Sainsburys a few years ago - shockingly painful, but......I was 3/4 way through the shopping so i went to the freezer section grabbed a bag of peas and carried on!
I never bothered getting anything done and it got better on it's own and is only a wee tiny bit crooked!!

my mum fell over when she was over here looking after the dogs (while i was at my luxury butler serviced spa hotel lol)
she landed on her finger and since then can't bend or straighten it. She is of the "older" generation (you know those ones who would think calling an ambulance was an imposition if you were having a heart attck)
therefore, despite me recommending to her to go to the MIU, she refuses as she dosen't want to trouble anyone. I am trying to advise her on what to do to help it, but shockingly, having been a nurse for 15 ish years, i've never done first aid or orthopaedics. I thought the treatment would probably just strapping it to the next door one
