Sugar Diabetes and Tests......sqad?
4 Answers
I had my weekly INR to-day as I am on Warfarin, and as I have been taking 1.15mg for the last week, I was contacted by my hospital saying it had gone up from 3.0 to 4,7, so I must alternate to 1mg per day and 1.5 the next for a week. Now I am wondering what may it go up as I haven`t been drinking alcohol or changed my diet. I have been having the occasional couple of Ginger Nut Biscuits which I enjoy with a nice cuppa, but I seem to remember that they can affect inr tests, and grapefuit is a no-no also.

It could be many things and drug interaction is one, but in your case I wouldn't have thought that this would apply.
Anxiety and stress, through a hormonal process can raise the INR also.
Don't worry mate.......it will settle down and it doesn't indicate a sinister underlying cause.
