Memory loss...
14 Answers
I know as you get older (I'm early 40's) your memory will waiver but I seem to be forgetting a lot more than normal of late.
It really hit me yesterday when I had an argument with a Tesco worker, flatly accusing them of lying about something (will not go into detail. Highly embarassing.) but then later realised they was telling the truth. I was mortified when the penny dropped and I remembered what HAD happened.
Realised at lunchtime today that I had forgotten to ring my friend yesterday to wish her luck with her Op today! Too late now. Left a very apologetic message on her answer machine. Not sure if she will forgive me. clean forgot!
Anyway, that's two examples. I can tell you a whole lot more.
Should I worry about this? It really is out of character for me. I'm normally really good at remebering things.
TIA

I'm 48, since my transplant I'm worse than usual with remembering recent things-eg,phone friends (at home) when they are on holiday-go in kitcen, make a drink, thenj realise was going to put dinner on etc...I blame transplant as hallucinated so badly-it also brought my periods back-bnot had any for 3 years... Don't worry-just mention it to Doctor, like Squad says-mine didn't listen, but will try again IF I remember-I forget everything
I would mention this to your GP next time you visit. I am not medically qualified and cannot comment on effects of menopause but early 40s seems young to me.
I have just been through a battery of tests by clinical psychologist at local hospital because of deteriorating short term memory. Result is that there is no indication of anything 'wrong' with me other than old age. Not sure if I am pleased or not.

Bagpuss- I have heard of people hallucinating after an organ transplant. Really does mess up your body.
Razza- lost count how many times I have done that!
Scotman- Glad they found nothing wrong with you. I would say that's a good thing really.
Think I will see how I go. But if it continues, then I may mention it to gp. For what's worth.
