Finger Swellings

Hi Folks, don't know if anybody can help but recently I had a swelling (red & itchy on two of my fingers on my right hand (on the side just above the knuckle). I put this down to getting a splinter a while back which I thought must have gone a bit funny. Anyway after about 4 weeks it disappeared. Over the last few days I have an identical swelling on the middle finger on my left hand and also on my little finger (on the side again and on the top joint below the nail). What on earth is this?, Could it be the early stages of arthritis or is it some dermatological problem. I'm baffled.

I have no idea of what it could be, but I think you should go see a doctor!

could be a repetive movement or positional injury. my husband got something similar by leaning on the knuckles of one hand...as kaktus says, see the doc!!
