My OH has had asthma all his life, except one of the practice nurses told me it wasn't asthma - as it's the chronic form, and is now called CP?? - I cannot remember the term, but it wasn't CPAP and it's really annoying me! Thanks for any help.
Does this help? It has a high prevalence round here (partly due to the mining industry) but it's quite common these days, caused by damage to the airways from a number of causes.
It doesn't actually say, sqad - but on re-reading, I note that the nurse discussed the OH's condition with the OP - not sure if that is in order....islasmum might not be aware of the diagnostics which the patient has undergone.
Agree with daffy too - COPD is not a chronic form of asthma - it (and the training the nurses should undertake before they run these clinics) is different.
