hospital policy

How do i get a hospital trust to change an unreasonable policy? mid essex nhs trust refuse to allow women to give birth in water despite providing pools for labour. We must get out to give birth, there is no evidence babies are at risk from this and most hospitals allow it including the other essex trusts! I have 9 weeks left to go of pregnancy and urgently need to change their minds, even the midwives agree, it's so unfair that if i live a couple of miles away it would be a different story! I would have a home birth but i can't afford the 200 + to hire a pool!

If you want any assistance or advice about making a complaint then you can contact your local Community Health Council. Their number will be in the phone book.
Not much concrete help, I'm afraid, but I suppose if you do things 'their' way, they *have* to listen. Good luck!
