Hey folks, my wife and I have decided that we'll start trying for a baby v.soon so she has decided to come off the pill. Anyway she came on last Monday (11th) and then ditched the pill. So, this is fine, but yesterday she came on again as if it was the first day of the period. Is this normal when finishing with the pill or should we be worried? Many thanks.

I am not a doctor or a lady, and it is a long time since women in my life were on the pill, so if you get a better answer, please ignore mine.  When a woman is on the pill she does not have periods.  The bleeding is as a result of withdrawal from the pill each month.  Pills are taken for three weeks because the users feel it is more natural if they bleed.  This would be what hapened the first time, and her body is now returning to normal and she has a proper period.
yes - it may take a month or two for her periods to return to normal - son't think there's any problem - good luck with becoming parents.

Yes, completely normal.  I know netibiza has said it can take a month or two for things to return to normal, but speaking from experience, it took my body over a year from coming off the pill to having a regular cycle.

Good luck!

Thank you very much

Apparently you are at your most fertile when you first come off the pill. It was that way for me and my partner and are now 6 months pregnant!

Good Luck!
