my pal was asked to give his electric meter reading
when he checked his meter the meter reading was lower than the last meter reading
he is wondering who to contact
thanks
Just give the meter reading to the supplier as they requested. They will massage the past figures, changing past readings and rates, so they end still owes them as much as usual this time no matter how unbelievable that is. At least that is what happened to me.
Just thought I'd stick my nose in.....If the meter reader has been please check your bill carefully. Just be got by British Gas for £1300 as BG's computer system ignores the reading if it differs from their estimated version. The sysyem doesn't flag this up as an error or a warning, it just ignores it & carries on estimating the bill. My meter was read every quarter by a meter reader & every single one was ignored.

I've never come across that but if it really is the case then you have to wonder why they bother to send someone to read the meters
Luco, maybe your pal misread the meter last time or this time. But it's worth him checking it for a few days to see if it goes forwards.
Factor 30, that was my response but it's true. I eventually spoke to a very helpful woman at BG who also couldn't believe it but she double checked & confirm that is indeed the case.
