So do you believe in astrology, if so, why?

I have read many horoscopes, they are all so vague that they nearly all would apply to some extent.

Is there any evidence or proof to support any of these beliefs.

Nope. But I read my stars and if it says something nice will happens I think 'oh good' and if it says something bad will happen I think 'what a load of old tosh' :)
I don't believe in astrology but we Arians are known for being stubborn ;-)
a slight problem with them is that the constellations don't actually exist. They're just the way certain stars appear from Earth, though they may be light years apart; they'd look different from Mars and probably unrecognisable from Deneb. So there's no actual water carrier. And the gravitational pull from them is somewhat less than that of the gynecologist who delivered you.
If I read horoscopes at all (and it's once in a blue moon that I do) then I choose which ever predictions are the best and go for that.
There's a huge difference between reading our stars in the paper and having a reaidng from an Astrologer. The first is a bit of fun but the second is really quite sicientific.

I'm not for or against but when we look at the genuine influence the moon has on us I cannot be dismiss astrology altogether.

muddlebrain, I know the James Randy Foundation, im a regular visitor :)
Worked with our local rag many moons ago. Horoscopes were written by a wee man about 60 years of age who sat all day making up tosh. If he was stuck he got the old newspapers out of the stacks and repeated the previous year's lol
It's bad luck to be superstitious
My Horoscope

Jupiter's gone into Orion, and come into conjunction with Mars
Saturn is wheeling across infinite space to it's pre-ordained place in the stars
And I gaze at the planets in wonder
At the trouble and time they spend
All to warn me to be careful
In dealings involving a friend.

I'm with Maidup on this one. I prefer to know the characteristics of the signs rather than the mumbo jumbo written in daily rags...I think traits of each sign are quite near the mark from what I've known over the years.
Maidup. daisya; I'm sorry, but there is NO aspect of astrology that is "quite scientific". It is an art form at best. There are NO "characteristics of the signs", it's all mumbo-jumbo.
Venus is in Orion and Pluto's up Uranus! Perlease, biggest load of old pony I've ever heard.
Opinions differ which is good, none of us can prove anything with this sort of subject so we just debate and throw our opinions in the ring.
As for the stuff printed in "news"papers, many years ago I knew a compositor on our local paper. One day she set the wrong day's horoscope into type and it was printed. Every day since then the "wrong" horoscopes have been printed; they're all a day out. Needless to say, nobody has ever complained!
Any one remember the Billy Connolly sketch where he said you could get a form from the Post Office for a change of star sign ?
Apparently a lot of people believed it and the Post Office had to announce it was not true.
I don't believe in them.. My star sign always changes anyway depending on what paper or magazine it's in. I'm on the "cusp" which means i'm usually a Scorpio but sometimes a Sagittarius.. Silly really.
erin that's horoscopes not astrology
How can the same prediction apply to millions of people? That in itself should show you what a load of rubbish it is.
Horoscopes come from Astrology....
