Funerals
I like Christina Rosetti's
When I am dead my dearest
Sing no sad songs for me
Plant thou no roses at my head
Or shady cypress tree
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet
And if tou wilt remember
And if thou wilf forget
However In A Pickle gave me another poem to think about in his recent post.

He has threatened to instruct the undertakers to dress me in terrible clothes and give me mad-womans-make-up. I in turn threatened to tell the undertakers that he was a closet transvestite and to put him in a frilly dress! won't have anyone get one over on me - even if I am dead!!
Hmm - I see Jerusalem has cropped up - my friend wants this. I am undecided - want to be cremated for sure tho - won't be worth burying me after the medics have taken all my usefull organs. Maybe the Doors, Light my Fire would bring a smile? Love the theme fm Gladiator - but my friend had this for her husband and it broke my heart. I like the Flower Duet fm Lakme, but not sure just how appropriate this would be - maybe Sweet Child O Mine or She Sells Sanctuary would be more in keeping with the general theme of this thread?
No flowers though - just want ppl to bring a donation that my NoK would donate to an animal charity.
Everyone HAS to wear black for my day - I LOVE it!! And it's my party after all!
Once cremated, want to be put into a rocket and whooshed into the sky....
I want this as a reading:
The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours.
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.
A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause.
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.
