My sister has just posted something on FB about if your mother is heaven for Christmas, lord give her some flowers and a kiss, blah blah blah. If I don't comment it will be noted (as me not caring), it's just I can't do with these public, over-the-top out pourings. My sister's family and friends know that our mother is dead, why post something like this on FB?

meh just post a smiley and love heartx
I hate these so so so so much. I think they are very attention seeking and make everyone feel guilty.

Don't comment on it and don't feel bad for not doing so. You are entitled to keep your thoughts private.
just click "like" and ignore the rest then.

Good plan FW, how do you do that? (Looks like I am feeling her paid without having to say anything gushy.)
don't get involved if you don't want to sher, you don't need to, you can just pretend that you didn't see it!...........
They do my head in. I ignore every single one of them....

Sorry FW, going with the ignoring suggestion. This sort of thing is just not my sort of thing (she did something similar on what would have been our Mother's birthday, makes me cringe - she's not in heaven with her feet on a cloud, she's a goner).
Doesn't this drivel just get on your nerves, I absolutely never comment and never repost. I wouldn't worry about it.
:) then <3 which is < 3 but without the space
oh ok lol
I'm not into FB or anything else folk seem to join in order to follow the herd; but surely who should care whether you comment or not ? If some twit says it shows you are uncaring then give them 'a piece of your mind'.

As for your sister, she is perfectly entitled to post what she likes (within reason obviously) and if this helps her cope then so be it. You don't have to be of the same mind, and want the same things.

My sister is a drama queen and is a lot younger than me, also there was a different family dynamic going on for her (she's my half sister and relied upon our mother a lot). I just think its maudlin, she should get on with enjoying her own children but each to his/her own I suppose - very 'look at how sad I am' though.
It's a bit OTT isn't it. Some people obviously feel the need to express themselves. I'm not hard hearted but I can't stand the sentimental 'weary hands laid to rest' sort of thing. And never on FB.
I guess its ok for her to though and if thats how she feels then fair enough, but if you dont feel you need to comment then dont. x The one that annoys me is people saying things like 'oh my god my poor friend' and then of course some idiot falls for it and asks them what they are on about then they tell them that their mates mums brothers dog is dying' lol. You get my drift, they take others peoples illnesses or things and make them their business.
This is some drivel I got earlier from 2 friends.

This is for everyone who is on my friends list. I enjoy hearing about you and your family, the good news, bad news and support during the dark times. I love the pictures and links. I am happy to count you as my friend, and so many are like family.

Thank you so much for being a part of my life, whether or not we talk regularly, you are still in my thoughts.

NOW...Let's see who actually pays attention... If you like this copy this as your status for just a minute. It shows who actually appreciates family and friendship. During this time of Christmas and other Holidays - be thankful for everyone in your life

It's clearly designed to try to make you feel bad if you don't repost, what a crock of pooh.

I know we all deal with stuff differently, just not my thing. If I am sad about something I would talk to an actual person. It seems to be trying to get everyone you have as friend to say 'aw, are you ok'. If it makes her feel better then that's all good (just irritates me) - told you I was a bit (or bot) of a cow.
You're not a bit or indeed a bot of a cow, if you are then I'm the biatch queen from hell.
4Get, the ones I really don't like are a bit like that but when someone asks what's wrong there is either no reply or 'I'll inbox you'. Why put it up there in the first place then? Just to make everyone want to know what's going on.
ha ha yes Ill inbox you lol. Or the 'Some people need to grow up and get a life and if you have something to say say it to my face'

Firstly who they saying it to? secondly they should say it to their face and thirdly if they are putting that on FB they need to grow up
Thanks, you have confirmed I am right not to go near Facebook.
