In November I had my other hip replaced with a resurfacing ,I had the right one done in May.it has been great and exercising, walking etc .. Has been wonderful.
This until this weekend where out of know where I have a bad groin pain.. Can this be due to the cold weather as I have not done anything to damage the new joint ?

It could well be due to the cold weather......might i suggest that you take Ibuprofen 400mgms when necessary for the pain and monitor the situation over the next 2-3 weeks.

Thank you
i have two resurfaced hips done 10 months apart about nine years ago. the second one has never felt quite as good as the first one and i had more (very minor)problems with it initially, and it did take longer to feel 'normal'. i'm not sure if this was partly due to me being more blase about the whole procedure, doing a bit too much too early in recovery, or whether it's down to the actual op itself.
i would suggest that it's still really quite early on in your recovery and probably nothing to worry about, as you're no doubt aware a resurfacing op takes quite a bit longer to recover from than a traditional hip replacement due to the nature of the op. i used to get a sort of twanging in my groin which caused a lot of pain for a few minutes although this hasn't happened for a couple of years now. i also had some tests done last winter to see if it was becoming loose or something as i was having a bit of trouble lifting my leg properly, a bit of physio sorted it out though.
if it were me, i'd see how it goes over the next week but if it doesn't improve or gets worse then i'd be back to the doctor. good luck :)
