I had bookmarked a "thai massage stick" on ebay,,,mabye ill pass then? Hahahaha
That pebble thing sounds amazing!
I just had a nosey and i may be eligable for some funding....and there is a reflexology course! I like alternative things like that....and its just a case of me wanting to learn something.....im excited hehe xx
lol - all round to gness's kitchen for a pebble party.....
tinks - are you the lady who is a nurse? if so then perhaps reflexology could be used in some nursing jobs as an holistic treatment in certain wards ie. oncology etc....
I love massage, go to a great place, proper really deep chinese massage, helps me a lot arthritis wise. My shoulders feel like they have dropped inches afterwards.
I'd love to go for an Indian Head Massage. Keep meaning to try reflexology too.
I've got a spa day voucher my brother and sister in law got me for Christmas and can't wait to use it, been saving it for a treat after my op but got to wait to heal way more first, not wasting a good massage if it's going to be uncomfortable :)
Silk Cut. I have really bad arthritis in the top bones of both feet. I am awaiting steroid injections guided by ultrasound (which I am dreading!!). The next step is operations to fuse the bones. Yuk!! They are so painful I could scream on occasions and can't put my feet to the ground. Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't think it would work. :o(
Cranial osteopathy is brilliant in my opinion - much better than massage if carried out by a qualified osteopath. It's very gentle but really works. But the osteopath is not allowed near my feet!!!
Sorry sj. just seen your post. You are right it did hurt. I didn't get a good look at what they were doing but I won't be having it done again. I'm not sure that I want my feet nibbled by fish either.
You`re on 20. First session free to abers. Wine included.
B. spent many months in a renal hospital. Massage [by me] brought down his BP so two of the nurses trained to use it on patients.
Isn`t the warm wax treatment supposed to be good for arthritis?
Ooh the wax treatment is gorgeous, you should Pinki! I have difficulty with my legs Lottie and am a bit nervous about them touching them in massage - my feet tend to cramp up too while on the table but they've tried my legs and feet a few times and I have to say it did help although uncomfortable at first. I find the foot spa makes my feet really uncomfortable!?! The heat maybe on top of already hot and swollen.
I wish I could go more often as massage has really helped (as did osteo). I remember one osteo actually remarking "bloody hell that's tight" when he first felt my back and when they first put dry needles in they had to yank them back out as the muscles were so tight. It's so worth it to get some relief and some lovely relaxation :)
20SC yeah i am...and funny you should say that... My ideal job one day would be oncology, a centre or something or a hospice where i could do things like that. So much red tape nowaways.... :0( im sure my papa when he was dying was given holisitic therapies though. I really belive
in it all- so although i would enjoy learing.....its also "in keeping" xxx
I'm not keen on the fish thing, got pestered into trying it for free while awaiting a massage in a new place and won't be trying it again. Cranial osteo is soooo good!
Could you do some voluntarily? I used to volunteer at a hospice and helped with a lot of diversional therapy, had an interview, references and criminal check I think for it, so worth doing though. Guess there are all kinds of "liability" issues nowadays though for anything which could harm or cause a reaction in people, especially those who are already fragile.
Id need a qualification i suppose but id DEFO volounteer in a
Hospice!! Ive been meaning to look up their talks and courses actually u just reminded me! Thanks!! Lol
Ive attended a few wee talks from doctors et in the hospice-
Its free and you get a certificate- all interesting cos i love palliative care and theres courses going ...and i have free
Time xx
