When is the best time to take it I have been taking mine in the morning but have just read you shouldn't eat for at least 30 minutes after taking it I usually have my breakfast soon after I've taken mine

well then - you take it 30 minutes before breakfast. There are reasons why food should be taken at certain times, you need to follow that guidance.

Have recently had to have increased to 150mcgs from 100 now I'm wondering if that's why because I have been eating to soon after taking it and it's not properly absorbed

Or have it after breakfast. Although that seems strange as it'll still share a space with a load of digesting food.

I think it has to be taken on a empty stomach not really sure maybe I should have ask the doctor

It doesn't matter a jot when you take it.

Stop going around in circles and increase your thyroxine as suggested by the TSH blood tests.

why do you get told this, sqad?
I get the grapefruit thing with some meds and I'm not questioning you on what you say, but why that instruction if it doesn't really matter? I'm interested, that's all

OP, my sister takes this and takes it with her breakfast amongst other pills :)

ojread........depends who told you..........i have never heard of this with thyroxine................i feel that it is a matter of "covering one's backside" against litigation to a large extent, combined with the media now making "everyone doctors."

It is touching on mass hysteria......in my opinion........just watch many or most of the answers on AB....go to A&E.....go to walk in centre........ring NHS direct...........and so on.

My instruction has always been to tear up the "paper" that comes in your box of tablets.........but no.....everybody has to read them.
