scream 4 reality...

just watched scream 4 - crap film btw - but just wondered exactly how realistic it is (i know its a film!)
but i wonder how easy it is to die from a single stab wound? i always thought youd have a good chance with one wound (unless its in the neck...) most times people were stabbed in the stomach - which i guess means internal bleeding and stomach acids leaking which... cant be good... but would it kill you that quick? and would blood really come rushing from your mouth that quick - and why would it?
others they went for the centre of the chest - usually upper chest - i guess hitting a lung or the heart - that i imagine would be painful and a quicker death. and the one in the forehead made me squirm
is it a case of how quickly you get treated?

Victims with free hands who see a blow coming will flinch and raise their hands so the intended blow goes awry.
People in horror films seem to leak / spout blood very readily, whereas in other films they bleed elegantly but unrealistically.

lol no nothing like that! just ive got a friend who works for the ambulance service and ive always been interested in survival!
is there a difference then between being stabbed and getting a peice of metal stuck in ya say from an explosion?
what i mean is do you have a better chance at survival if the knife stays in rather than taken out? id guess so only cuz you wont bleed out as quick... id guess as well apart from the initial pain it wouldnt be a bad death - youd bleed out go into shock pass out then die - like goin to sleep and never waking up!
