Cold
43 Answers
Hi all,
I have a horrible cold at the moment. I was given Amoxicillin from my Doc on Tuesday. I have woken up this morning with a very painful blocked ear. My problem is I am flying on Monday and I am wondering if the Amoxicillin will be enough or if there is anything else I can take to help?
Thanks :)

I can understand where you`re coming from though. There was a myth in the airline world (about 15 years ago) that sticking a plastic cup with a hot towel in will help your blocked ears.
I will apologise if I ruffled your feathers, sqad.
I am not a doctor (of medicine) but I do work along science, engineering and medical science translating their research work into more understandable speak for the public at large, particularly for marketing, pr and communications, and sales.
I thought about medicine and indeed one of the more "revealing" and challenging visits I have ever made was to the School of Tropical Medicine in Liverpool after As - very inspirational and having been a patient of the Tropical Docs, (liver triglycerides etc from so-called sterilised bottled water in Somalia) I have a lot of admiration for the time and dedication they give, as it isn't one of the showy and well-rewarded areas of medicine.
Pub calls now as Mastermind is on and that isn't about intelligence, more about photographic memory.

But at some point, one returns, SJ, and your descriptor wasn't that far from the mark, a glass of red grape juice, just the DT Quickie (the big one done), no food as I had it here, but plenty of company with locals who had visitors and a weekend of wanting to show them the local colour (read getting blitzed).
I would have stayed longer as there were some disgraceful non-pc jokes flowing....not repeatable here, but the mater would have ripped out the TV cables as she can't handle the zapper or the plugs.
Is vodka ok with her way forward - that is what matters.
Friends, yes, why be overly hostile on here.......?
