Help,please!

I am due to start chemotherapy for lung cancer on Monday. Suddenly it's all too real and my positive thinking has gone out of the window. I'm really scared and worried - about the illness, naturally, but also about the treatment. Any ABers out there who have experience of chemo or who can share some positive thoughts?

I have lots of friend/family support but it really does help to share feelings with strangers - though you all don't feel like strangers any more. I will try very hard to remain positive and fight this thing. I'll let you know how I get on and thanks a million for the shoulders to cry on!
I'll be thinking of you on Monday. The staff in these places are so helpful and caring you'll feel at ease at once. There are a few types of chemo and each person reacts differently to them. However, it's the positive thinking, eating well and getting sleep when the body needs it which really helps you along the way.
Well, folks, thanks again and again for your best wishes and concern. Today went as well as it could - comfortable hospital suite, fantastic nurses, food and drink on tap, treatments not too awful. Feel fine this evening, though of course side-effects could kick in later. Just about to enjoy one glass of wine (well, they said I could..) and feel I shall manage a reasoanable meal.
Did lots of creative visualisation today involving warriors on horseback firing laser-like beams of chemo at all the cancery bits. Also took a book on seeking help from your angels, which I feared might be a bit cheesy but tirned out very calming and inspirational Feeling a bit more positive....
