high fibre cereals are the best - full of iron and other nutrients too which are needed when on a diet. Baked beans are also high fibre and low fat. Fruit also, and drinking lots of water helps to move things along...... depends what kind of diet you're on though - if you're on a no carb diet, then i have no idea where fibre can come from - i wouldn't recommend any diet that needs supplements though, can't be healthy really. what diet is it? is it working? could do with some tips! lol x
I'm on the harcombe diet, which only the first 5 days is restricted carbs, but because I have quite a bit to lose I am staying at phase one for a few weeks. I have been on it for 2-3 weeks, not religiously, have had a few blips lol, but have lost 15lbs, so something must be working lol. xx
Well done roxie bet ur well chuffed n never heard of the harcombe diet but carb restriction def is the best way forward x
My guy is a gym owner n he will always give the best advice to anyone, u should be so proud of what you have achieved and I will ask him about the supplements x
Well done roxie! You must be chuffed!
As for fibre-eat more salad and leafy greens. If you are ,errrmmmm...stuck...high dose vitamin C helps-1500-2000mg a day. Make sure you are getting enough fat also-that will help.
If you need advice-the club website forum is very helpful. x
Roxie, I'm looking at the Dukan diet - that is high protein and it recommends a portion of oat bran every day (not oat flakes, the bran) - I get mine in Tesco or Morrisons, not hard to find, and make it into a breakfast porridge.
Thank you all so much for the support and advice guys!! I am well chuffed which is keeping me motivated to lose the rest lol. I am heading to the shops in a bit so will see what I can find. Thanks again! xxxx
The good thing about the diet that I am on, is that is doesn't restrict as such, obviously have to eat brown bread and brown rice etc, but that fatty meals and carb based meals are eaten seperately xxx
roxie's diet is based on the principal that carbs and fats are kept separate because if eaten together, the body will burn carbs first, and then store fats if not needed. Insulin is then released-which causes the body to store fat. If you eat fats by themselves, then the body burns them. And it really works. Harcombe is not really all that low carb. But-if you eat low carb, then fats need to be increased....which Dukan does not do.
