What are the chances....

...at last, I finally get my little house to rent, moving on and upwards and all that, and then it becomes apparent, the Freeview/Digital signal is extremely poor here (I can't even get E4!!) and due to a big tree across the way, which is on common ground, I can't get Satelitte signal - SKY..... Other houses can, just right where mine is, in a slight dip.... its a no go. :-(

A tree WILL block a Sky signal - have had exactly the same situation. When they were putting the dish on the back of our house they realised that a huge tree in the garden backing onto ours was completely in the way. He tried everything and was just about to give up when he found a position right on the edge of our house where he could pick up the signal. He says trees can be a huge problem
What sort of aeriel do you have?
If it's a bit old it might be marginal for digital. That was my situation a few years back when we went digital.
I got a high gain one fitted professionally with a mast head amplifier with pretty spectacular results.
