Did you get bleeding in between periods?

For the men who are reading this, I'd reccomend to look away now!

I am bleeding in between my periods and I don't know why! The blood isn't like my normal period blood, it's much darker and thicker!

I don't want to see my Doc cos he's new and awful. And a bit seedy.

I was on it for a few months but didn't have any extra bleeding, I think it just depends on the person.  If you've just started this brand of pill then it might just be breakthrough bleeding,m which normally only happens once or twice but if you've been on it a while and it's still going on I'd ask to try a new one.  If it's only just sarted after you've been on it for a while then I'd definately go to the doctor.  Go to your doctors surgery and ask if you can have an appointment with another doctor, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.  I've got a few doctors I don't like at my practise, always make me feel like a kid.  Alternatively if you can't get another doctor, try your local family planning clinic, they should be able to help.

Can you see the practice nurse instead?  Or book an appointment with a female doctor?

It is common for your body to take a month or two to settle down when you first start taking a contraceptive pill, but if it's been longer than three or four months then you'll probably need a different pill to sort the problem out.

I've been on this pill for a year though! And it's only just started last week. At first, it didn't bother me, but then the blood was getting worse, and thicker, and starting to scare me!

The problem with my doctors is, is that they only have one there, and the nurse only comes about once a week. It's so useless! :( I blame Blair!

change your doctor.  There is absolutely no point in being registered with a doctor that you feel this way about.

They actually change the doc every month or so, cos I don't think no-one can hack it. Plus I don't know where the nearest one after that is.. :( I shall just take my bleeding as normal for now.
You could phone nhs direct, they should be able to tell you whether it's normal (most likely) or anything you should get checked out.

I have been on this pill in the past and changed because of the 'spotting' as they call it. It just affects different people in different ways.

I highly recommend you make an appointment with your practice nurse, or request a female doctor.

Get it checked out just for your piece of mind. Good luck.

Hugoboss, you're a star! =)

Someone mentioned this to me, but I wasn't sure, but now two people have mentioned it, it probably is this!

I was ordered (by my boyfriend) to get a Pregnancy Test last night and it was negative (thank God!)!

Thanks people.
