The blood test was normal for whatever was tested for and you are still left with a painful hip.
Next step is for your GP to decide if this pain is muscular or involving the hip joint itself and for this you will need an X-Ray of the hip.
Medical diagnosis is often a process of elimination.

Good the bloods were clear even if it doesn't help the pain - inflammatory arthritis is evil!
Have they not ordered an xray or referral to an osteo clinic? I was referred to one very quickly when I mentioned to my GP I still had bruising and swelling round my ankle and over my foot after a pretty heels/missing chair NYE incident months down the line (you can still see some bruising now and it was from NYE 2010/11).
Could it also be something like burstitis?
I remember when I first went to physio a few years back and they did an exercise where I lay half on and off the bed and had to see how long I could hold my leg up, not very long at all! They said the hip muscles were weak and gave me exercises to help build them up as the hip area is so important for the stability and structure of the body. They said the weakness could be leading to pain.
Maybe an osteopath could help?

Hi Snowball, pleased your blood tests are normal, however that just rules out rheumatoid arthritis as mentioned in earlier posts. I have osteoarthritis of the hip, lower back and knee, all confirmed on xray. I have seen my GP several times and I just wonder how bad I have to be before being referred to a consultant. I am just told 'You have arthritis, just take the painkillers'. I am posting this in answer to Anngel123's input. I know that the GP's don't like referring on due to the costs to our surgery.
