I'm a 36G and haven't dared try one for a long time. Remember being told in M&S that people over a certain cup size are not meant to wear them as they can't make them with sufficient support without the straps or flattening them which just looks wrong. Hopefully things have moved on though! I'd be worried about it slipping down and letting them loose :)
I was also told balcony bras are not good for people with larger cup sizes as the cut of them can't provide enough support, I love balcony bras though - oh the days when I could go buy pretty dainty and more sexy things from the High Street for cheap prices, even at a DD.
I had a fitting in M&S not long ago and was very disappointed, none of them fit properly and I was still bouncing and they didn't look that flattering.

I swear by Freya bras for the bigger cup size, cannot personally comment on strapless...this looks good.
