As I was out last night, my husband went to the local chippie and bought himself a large cod, medium chips and mushy peas. He also had a can of coke.

He has had to get up three times in the night and has had diarrhoea, so he's feeling a bit sorry for himself this morning.

Now, we rarely eat fatty, greasy food and he takes statins for high cholesterol.

Has he just had some kind of reaction to the fat and grease he ate, when I wasn't looking and/or there to stop him?

Not necessarily so......it depends upon the infecting organism as to the speed of onset of the symptoms and the presence or absence of vomiting.
