Can Diazepam cause suicidal thoughts?
37 Answers
Hi there I was really anxious last night and I took a 5mg diazepam tablet I keep them for emergencies maybe I have one once a fortnight. But this afternoon I have been having really disturbing thoughts of suicide I dont want to do it because I have a lot to live for a bit stressed re money and I get lonely but otherwise ok too scared to talk to my GP in case I get sectioned. I was just wondering if it was the diazepam that has set this off

Do as she has suggested. Having an argument with the thoughts does sound ridiculous, but it does actually help. Go somewhere where there's no one around, and talk out loud. Say "You will not win. I am too strong for you". Sounds mental, but just do it.
Sleep deprivation will make you feel much, much worse so, if you can, try and get more sleep than you have been.
If you start feeling anxious, then phone her again. Don't think you're being a nuisance. They are there to help.
I wish you well :-) x

Thanks everyone I think I am really stressed out about an £80 loan I have taken out from minicredit.co.uk I read some terrible reviews about them making threats and people getting over £1000 in debt with an £80 loan but they are licensed by office fair trading and there have been a few reviews where people have said they had no probs and it is people who dont pay that have them. I can afford to pay it back next week so I think I will be ok but reviews are bad. Its crazy but I keep on imagining the worst. Can anyone put my mind at rest?
Gordie, if you're not feeling good about yourself then things get hugely out of proportion (I know, I've been there). £80 is not a great debt although it might feel it at the moment, and if you can pay it back next week, the interest on that sort of sum over a short period won't be massive. It might be more than if you'd had a bank loan but pay it back and that should be the end of it. Don't beat yourself up about something that you can put right in a few days' time.
