I woke up this morning with what I can only decribe as a dead leg. Not that my whole leg felt dead but it felt like I'd been GIVEN a dead leg (a knee in the top of the thigh).

Its been like that all day.

If it hasn't gone away or eased by the morning I'm going to see my GP, but in the mean time, does anyone know what it might be, and what caused it?

Sounds like you have sciatica. Please see your GP

As neti says it could be sciatica, or it could be a trapped nerve in your spine or even a circulation problem.

Of course it may be none of these things, but I'm sure your GP will soon sort you out. Good luck fly258.
