Painful roof of mouth linked with flu?!
4 Answers
I've had the cold/flu thing the past week and a half, and today I have a red painful raised patch on the roof of my mouth, towards the right back. I am coughing up solid yellow stuff, am asthmatic and will try and get some antibiotics tomorrow as it seems to gradually be getting worse. I just wondered if anyone else had had the same thing, and what the red hurting roof of mouth thing was? Thanks

However it is not an uncommon complication of viral infections and is no big deal. One presumes from your OP that you had indeed had a viral infection and have developed a secondary bacterial infection due to being asthmatic.
Antibiotics will settle your problem.

Sqad- no idea if you'll get this, but any idea why my tonsil area has gone massively round and wide? Like each side is having a big tight yawn! Normally the back of my throat is relaxed and pink, but it looks like a wide cave, like you could fit 2 x 2p coins in the spaces exactly. This happened once before as I got pleurisy. I started taking antibiotics today. Thanks!
