Not quite with it...

I feel a bit 'weird' today. I can't really describe it, but the only word I can think of is 'detached'.
I feel really cold, even though I have the heating on and a hoody, and a bit jittery - if that's the right word to use. I can't really think straight and keep finding myself sat here staring into space.
I can feel my anxiety slowly creeping in, and am worried.
I had quite a lot to drink last night and although I don't feel hungover, I'm wondering if this could be the reason I feel like this. I've been working non-stop for the past few weeks and needed a bit of release.
Is this normal and would you say it's the direct result of maybe overdoing it?

I wasn't plastered or anything, just very very merry.
Thanks Erin. Actually, maybe tiredness is a factor. I haven't been sleeping much lately. I should probably get off my arse and get on with some housework, but I just start something and then forget what it is I'm supposed to be doing :-/

Hi Bluestone -sorry to hear you're not well and sorry to be the bearer of perhaps bad news - well not that bad but both me an OH have been knocked sideways a couple of weeks ago by a bug going around that started with symptoms just like yours - sore tickley throat - going very hot then very cold - jittery -a feeling of a hangover -can't be ars*d to do anything -so bad OH took a few days off work -first in 20 years so it was bad. It took a week to start, peak and fade away - hope you haven't got it but if you have try and take it as easy as you can and spiced rum with hot lemon a beechams powder and teaspoon of manuka honey works wonders .
Tiredness, hangover, cold weather, perhaps a cold coming on, working too hard, general "over doing it" can be many factors. You mentioned anxiety, do you suffer with anxiety issues? I had a bad year last year, work and relationships were just too stressful and I got a bit low. I found that my anxiety was increased when I was feeling tired or hungover. Dont underestimate how much the body needs rest, the world seems a lot harder when you are tired and it can even bring on physical symptoms.

Hi all.
Thanks so much for the further responses. I feel much, much better today, thank you :)
I think it was a combination of tiredness and alcohol - which in turn brought on my anxiety.
Touch wood, I don't feel ill or anything - which is good as I'm working for the next three weeks without a day off!
JD, yeah I do suffer with the old anxiety/panic attacks, although nowhere near as much as I used to.
I'm the same as you, they generally tend to happen more when I'm tired or a bit stressed out. Think it's just that time of the year.
Thanks again :-)
