to the hospital three times now. Also has been using eye drops every day for it. Today he went back to the hospital and the doctor there said it was all going on. But he also said something about being blind in 15 years. Would anyone know if he meant if my husband hadnt been using the eyedrops he would be blind or if he will be blind anyway in 15 years.?

Yes..........if glaucoma is left untreated it will lead to blindness.

No..........if glaucoma is treated resultant blindness is unlikely.
They normally test the pressure in the eyes, lilacben to monitor the condition. If the Doctor wasnt happy with the result he should have changed the drops or increased them. If treated correctly, he will not go blind. I know of several people with this condition.

The doctor sounds a wally.

Thankyou both very much. I will tell my husband that as I am sure he is worried about it. x
I have acute open angle glaucoma and can only repeat what has been said and make sure he never misses his drops, they are forever.
There is an operation he could have later on down the line. It's called trabeculectomy and can release the pressure. But as said already drops are forever. There maybe some loss in the field of vision which may affect driving but this doesn't happen often. Be reassured and keep up with the drops!
