Hi!

Over the past couple of weeks ive started to notice that ive lost a fair bit of weight fairly suddenly. All my mates have notcied it too, and they never say anything!lol! i dont know how cos although i tend to eat healthy at home i really eat junk at College. I did go to the gym a bit bt havn't been for ages (been to busy, it's not that i cant be bothered) I do go horse riding but not enough! I've had a little stress with my exams but when i was taking my GCSE's i had terrible headaches but the stress didnt affect my wieght. Can anyone help or explain this.

What do you call a fair bit? If I were you trouble I'd pop & see the doctor for a check. It would help if you know exactly how much weight you've lost & also mention any other unusual things such as thirst or sweating  (not unusual in this warm weather I know!) if you are experiencing them.
It could be diabetes or an overactive thyroid.  The same thing happened to me and i was tested for these - the same simple blood test at your GPs will confirm these

Maybe pop to your doctors if your worried. something you may want to know it could be down to stress as well or emotional stuff. I lost half a stone in two weeks from doing nothing different except from splitting up with my Ex and the first two weeks i was really hurting. All is well now though and i feel great and much better in myself and have put it back on also from doing nothing out of the norm. so don't get too worried it may just be your exam stress hun.

If it helps at all, my weight regularly swings within a half-a-stone range and there's nothing wrong with me!  I weigh myself at the same time every day and eat at roughly the same time (and have the heavy meal in the evening most days) and still it swings.

If you've lost more than half a stone, I'd advise asking a pharmacist, calling NHS direct, or going to your GP.  Good luck! :-)
