A Bodybuidng Question For My Mate

my mate is doing a pyramid bodyweight only routine but wants to know if its ok to do dymanic tension between sets.
heres the routine:
Go Up the Pyramid:
(or half pyramid workout)
- Set/Step 1: 1 pullups/2 pushups/3 v situps
- Set/Step 2: 2 pullups/4 pushups/6 v situps
- Set/Step 3: 3 pullups/6 pushups/9 v situps (Your first few set are basically a warmup)
- Set/Step 4: 4 pullups/8 pushups/12 v situps
- Set/Step 5: 5 pullups/10 pushups/15 v situps
- Set/Step 6: 6 pullups/12 pushups/18 v situps (Here is where you may fail/max out)
Go Down the Pyramid:
(or reverse order pyramid)
- Set/Step 5: 5 pullups/10 pushups/15 v situps
- Set/Step 4: 4 pullups/8 pushups/12 v situps
- Set/Step 3: 3 pullups/6 pushups/9 v situps (Finish cool down)
- Set/Step 2: 2 pullups/4 pushups/6 v situps
- Set/Step 1: 1 pullups/2 pushups/3 v situps
he dos it on monday, wed and fri or sometimes tues, thurs or sat depending on the mood. oh btw on wed or thurs, he dos pull ups, dips and frog crunches.
he is on mass gaining diet, he was advised to do a bodyweight only exercies before doing something like reg park 5x5 or starting strenght.
