You don't have to follow the rest of the flock. Enjoy being yourself, you are an individual. Out of all the millions & millions of people in the world there is only one you. Don't give a ***** what other people think, just enjoy your life & do what YOU want to do. We are all unique, & we all have a right to enjoy the time we have here. Celebrities don't live in the real world, you do.....make the most of it, we are all beautiful in our own ways.
Flower, for 33 years I led a life that many envied being financially successful and not wanting for anything in a material sense.
Only in the last two years as I have given some of my time to voluntary organisations helping the less fortunate have I come to enjoy the sort of self-esteem that I had always craved and others believed that I had always had. If you can find the time to donate some of your own time to others you may just find the peace and self-fulfilment that I and many others have.
And whatever you do, ignore celebrities. So many of them lead shallow lives you cannot possibly want to be like. Follow Richard's advice and be yourself. Nothing else matters.
Good luck to you.
I've felt exactly as you have before flower90. Is there anybody you could speak to about how you're feeling?
Not all of us are fake! People are always judging me because of the way I look. Prove their judgements are wrong, or use it to your advantage. Don't let them get you down.
Think about it, one day their fake world will fall apart and they'll realise they've got no real friends, no real lives.
So come on ...........lets see you smile..................
What you have Flower is Depression. Hopefully just a mild dose. It is good that you recognise your felings, but I know how fustrated you feel by not understanding them.
It is easy for anyone to advise you to visit your GP. but I bet you feel he/she wouldn't be able to help either. You'd be wrong. You must go see your GP.
Depression is dangerous in any form. You don't have to be a white faced valium junkie to be depressed. YOU KNOW what you're feeling isn't true (well maybe the bit about the fake saddo's is), but if you get on with your life as best you can, and be true to yourself, with a little help and support from any source, this bad patch will pass.
Take heart in the support everyone else here has given.

flower, it's not really about celebrities. They may be mostly worthless but they're not the real issue. Even if they were all fine fellows, great actresses and humanitarians, you'd be wasting your time comparing yourself with them. RH is right: you're you, an individual, and you can make your own way in life without having to model yourself on someone you've seen on TV. Most people do - perhaps you've been hanging out with too many who spend too much time in front of Celebrity Puke Shop and have lost their own bearings, but no reason why you should.
Personica may be right that you have depression - there's a difference between just feeling down in the dumps and clinical depression, but it would be a good idea to see your GP and get him to decide what you've got.
hey flower, i agree that there is a lot of pressure on people to conform to the media images we are bombarded with everyday. Don't feel bad about this as we have all been there!
I do think however that you sound like this is not the only problem you are dealing with. Like you, I had a really bad period a few months back wwhen I just couldn't 'see the point'. I bit the bullet and went to see my doctor who was fab. She referred me to short term counselling (6 weeks) and it really helped. You don't have to be 'crazy' to go to counselling and talking to a stranger can open up a lot of oppotunities.
Maybe this isn't the right path for you but I throughly recommend it as it really helps to put all your feelings into perspective.
Good luck
