Technology fools you. You think the department is more efficient but the problems that arise are just frustrating as you wait for IT to ask you for information on things you have never heard of are so they can fix your problem. If you were that knowledgeable you'd not need IT. Plus it allows management and system designers to produce umpteen hoops one has to jump through in order to do what was previously a simple five minute task before it all came in, all in the interests of overblown security or excess data detail retention for their graphs and presentations and tracing things. It is all the work of the devil I tell you. And what is worse one dare not point out the problems that make work life a nightmare now because everyone agrees it's all necessary.
