In A&E after being sent in as have suspected chickenpox so having drugs injected in with being on methotrexate. Blistery itchy spots spreading :(

No question really, just passing the time more as don't think I'm going to get much sleep tonight. The staff deserve a medal for some of the things they have to deal with.

Get a proper kip now, Jenna. Hope you get better real soon.
Interesting...........where did they start and to where have they spread?
Oh no - get well soon Jenna x
Hope it's not to bad for you, my OH got it in his 30's, he said he felt like his head would explode.
Ouch - very nasty indeed ... hope they can at least do something about the pain and itching

Sorry Jen, you probably didn't want to hear that. Get well soon x
rocky....... your OH's problem sounds more like shingles than chicken pox, which is not usually painful.
Definitely chickenpox, well so the doc said, it was the first time in 12 years that he went sick from work, he was so ill.
rocky......right. Just that it is unusual for chickenpox to be painful...... same virus, but both diseases act so differently.
Terrible. I feel for you

It is a pity you didnt have it before. Oddly enough but not for you, the fella who connected Chickenpox and shingles was my father's senior partner Edgar Hope Simpson. Wiki article now but in 1944 he wasnt That Famous.

Chickenpox in an adult makes you feel pretty crap - see raccoon's post and no guarantees it is for a day or so

Peter.....i would hate to challenge Wiki.....but i though that the connection between the two diseases had been known for centuries but definitely established ih the late 19th century.

I could be wrong.

Thanks all. On both arms sqad round my inner elbows and now on my back too.

Been on acicovir(?) Infusion drip. Just had chest xray but no.idea why. Waiting on blood results too.
Question Author
I had it when I was little Peter, badly too apparently so think they are checking if it us chickenpox even if looks like it. My white cell count was up on my last methotrexate blood screen from Friday.
Jenna...that is an odd distribution for chicken pox......usually starts on chest and stomach and THEN goes to the arms...........

I just wondered if the rash could be from the Methotrexate itself?

Will be interested in the results......

poor you jenna, you are certainly in the wars, I hope you are feeling more comfortable xxx
I got them in my 30's & I've never felt so ill. Ended up having the doctor 3 times due to hallucinations. Got the rash everywhere....spotted dick anyone:-)
