My nails have become very weak and breaking at the sides since I had shellac removed with a file instead of acetone. While they are growing, would it be a good idea to have gel nails put over them, until the weak nail grows out? I have used all types of varnish strengtheners but nothing stops them breaking low down the sides, usually they are very strong, I am so annoyed with the nail bar but nothing I can do now.

THE PROBLEM IS TO GET THE GEL TO ADHERE, They file the nail surface which makes them even weaker!

What's the application where they mix two items together - is it acrylic? That is what I was thinking of, they paint it on, quite strong smell. Would this be a good idea while my nails are growing?
