Spoke To Doctor And Been Put On A Really High Dose Of Glipazide
9 Answers
Hi I spoke to my doctor today and he is not happy with the hb1ac result it is over 9% so I have to take 5mg of glipazide in the morning before breakfast and 5mg before tea and 1000mg metformin before lunch and 1000mg before dinner it seems a massive dose of diabetic tablets and I am worried I will go the other way too low and have a hypo but he says the damage I am doing with having too much sugar in my blood can be really bad. So I am having to get this under control apparently if it is not sorted out in 3 months the next stage is insulin

I was diagnosed as Type 2, 3 or 4 years ago, I took advice, changed my diet (not easy I know) and as a dog owner I already did a lot of walking, I now see the Diabetic Nurse once a year, do not take any medicines at all for it, and have no problems living with it, I'm 60+ by the way.
I've seen the damage it can do to people, toes or even whole feet being amputated, it's not a journey I want to take, and believe me neither do you,
but only you can decide, as Sqad said,
///and THAT my friend is the bottom line.///.........Good Luck!
