Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex the other day. 2 days later i came on my period but i've heard it takes 3 days to actually get pregnant after havign sex. Does this mean i could be pregnant?

I would doubt it as you would have already ovulated around 12-15 days after your last period.  However - don't take my  word for it!

Do a test and next time use morning after contraception. It can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex.

YES Get a test now. What you have heard is that sperm can live for 3 days before they die. It only takes a few minutes for an active one to fertilise an egg.

Sorry to butt in, but it would be far too early to take a pregnancy test.  Even if sperm did reach an egg, (which is possible, but quite rare at this point in your cycle) it takes a few days for it to implant and even then a couple of weeks for the hormone levels to increase to a level that would be detected by the off-the-shelf pregnancy tests.  Even the First Response ones which say that you can test before your period is due requires a reasonable level of hormones, which would not be present at this early stage.  You’re going to have to wait another couple of weeks before any pregnancy test to give you a correct result.
