since last night my arm has felt really strange.  It feels really sensitive, when i touch it, it almost hurts.  I have pains shooting up to my elbow when i touch something cold (similar to a sensitive tooth).

Does anyone know what this could be?

sounds like it could be a trapped nerve. You should see a dr, it could be really easy to fix. It needs checking out anyway
Yeah, you should definetly see a doctor about that, but smee.tracey's right, it could just be a trapped nerve.

Could be anyone of a number of things, more than likely as statead above, a trapped nerve.

Other causes could be phantom limb pain, peripheral neuropathies or even rheumatoid arthritis and diabetes, although it is very unlikely to be the latter 2.

Best way to know is to pop along to your doctor.

doc, I'm glad you're not my GP. Are you sure you're supposed to frighten patients?
Go see your own GP and get this check PROFESSIONALLY
If the arm is sensitive to the touch is phantom limb pain an option?
