Anybody got any tips on dealing with/ recovering from anxiety and depression please??

Your solution will be as un ique as your fingerprint. You need to start exploring all options: therapies, distraction (doing physical stuff like hiking). health (audit your height / weight / blood pressure).
It will take time and there will be setbacks - it is a journey that goes into reverse for short times. So be prepared to take the journey and be kind to yourself.

I couldn't agree more with the others. "Old Hands" develop their own ways of coping over time. Sometimes, you just have to roll with it. I tend to think of it as groping around in the bottom of a deep pit.......... looking for the light switch :o)
I usually manage to talk myself out of it .......... eventually. Don't forget, it's nothing more than just another aspect of "you".

I actually felt worse for first two weeks and couldn't leave my bedroom. Was very gradual improvement with good days and bad days. Maybe couple of months realistically. My doctor told me they have to be taken for minimum of six months to work effectively. I also found my limbs felt like lead if I did anything active, but that wore off quite quickly.
Mine took a couple of months before I stopped feeling drugged and started feeling something like normal.
I do find that holidays help. I couldn't organise one but my friend does all of that, as I find it difficult enough just to sort out packing (my daughter does that) and gee myself up for actually going.
I choose holidays (cruises) where I can do as little as I want, or join in things if I'm in the mood.
