Help Knee Pains

I am on my feet a lot and I am now suffering with pains in my left knee. The knee feels stiff at times and the pain is very bad especially when I climb stairs.

When I get home and rest my feet, keep them up, the pain seems to subside when I get up the next day. Then I go to work and my pains start all over again. I believe if I keep off my feet for a couple weeks maybe my knee would heal itself.

Do you know of any over the counter or homemade remedies? Please share cause I really need it right now.

Ps. I do not go to the doctors. Only if my knee falls out then I will go to the doctor. :)

I also have have trouble with my left knee. Sometimes when I go to walk it just give way and bends quickly.......which really hurts. For a day or so it hurts to touch around knee cap towards the middle of knee to the right side of it. And if I walk too quickly it catches me again and really hurts.?

Goodsy, I'm 5' 1", weigh 110 lbs. My arse is only a handful :)

Fairycakes, I've tried all the innersoles out there and none worked for me. But, my feet are ok. No problems now really; before, yes.

Pasta, I have tasted Glucosamine and Chondroitin liquid and it is very, very sweet. I'll think about it. Maybe I'll suggest it to my Mum. Is the Glucosamine and fish oil together and come in one capsule? Thanks

Lilacben, perhaps you could try what Pasta suggested. You never know, it just may work for you. I hope it does.
I also take the liquid-by Healthspan. I prefer it as I hate large tablets. Not to worry-glucosamine is readily available in tablet form. The fish oil is seperate-also available in capsule or liquid form.

You're only dinky then. you could try the doctors and a referral to a physio, they might be able to get you some exercise (low impact) that strengthens your lower body. I've suffered similarly in the past to you, I needed to lose weight first though :(

ouch, ive been suffering with my knees as well, and my hip and elbows. Ive just started back at the gym and i've changed now to swimming more and gym less and low impact stuff when i'm in the gym. It does seem to be a little better, well its not today but then i did a double session of gym/swim last night

Im hoping that if i lose weight it might get better all by itself.....

Fluffs, I hope you get good, long lasting results from whatever you try.

I'm off work for a couple days so knee would be rested, and it will be back to almost normal. But, then I go out to work again and the cycle starts all over.

I think I'll get that knee brace Crafty recommended, and try some rubs and sprays, and I'm still giving Pastas recommendations some thought. I'm vegetarian so I'll have to look for plant based Omegas.

For me, going to the doctors is when I reach a dead end and my knee is falling off. No doctors for me. I am doctoring me for myself. lol
The very fact that it improves after a couple of days rest suggests there is nothing seriously wrong.

Note that when a footballer has knee problem, he is out of action for many months. They take a long time to fully repair.

Long term, if your job is causing the problem, you will need to make some changes - and potentially big ones.

Hoppi, I've been off today, and off my feet for most of the day. There's no pain when I walk.
