Bednobs gave me the idea.

Years ago, had a school chum called Beatrice (she hate it, preferred to be called Beattie)

Her mum, however, insisted that we call her Beatrice, unfortunately the lovely lass has red hair and was nicknamed Beetroot by the not-so-nice brigade.

Have you had your name shortened to something you didn't like?

I was known, obviously, as Stewpot:)

lol Stewey, and what are you doing with the field later?
Skipping, traipsing or just strolling?
Whichever it is, have a lovely pint or three xx
Alba, I quite fancy a spot of meandering later this afternoon:)
Used to call me "Wireless -Eye" because I had a Broad Cast in one of them.

meandering sounds good Stewey.

Ever, I don't quite know whether to laugh or not :-(
(It's blooming clever though!)
None of my mates at school were known by their given names and we have kept the nick names for 60 years, though some are no longer with us. Mine was Boz. being boys, our parents didn't care at all what we were called.
My surname was changed to Morifarty :-)

Can't remember why but there's a small circle of us who refer to each other by our full initials e.g. RMO, SGS, PWE and AJC. In conversation, I might ask "You seen anything of RMO lately?"
SGS even has my initials in the contacts of his phone, not my actual name!
Hated Chrissy. I call everyone tart so everyone is the same

school pals are definitely weird! However, they can be life-long friends :-D

Does that make us weird or is that a different question?
Hmmm...let me see.
I was called ketchup head....but that was OK as I had a crush on the boy. There was also carrot top, ginger, and Ginny ..(nooooo!!)....and virgin when I was in my teens....:-0
The worst was being called cross-eyed,which thankfully ended when I was eight.
Sorry,it was a joke,alba,just couldn't resist it.!!
Errr, thanks for best answer Alba!?!? :-/
