Had a text from himself earlier - severe bad head & vomiting, going back on drip. He says this is 'normal' for the fourth day but I am worried that he is having another bleed. Any ideas?

sounds like dehydration, not surprising, don't panic.
Severe headaches can make you vomit.

Try not to worry too much xx
Don't think he's having another bleed sherr, don't forget they are monitoring him. Probably is dehydration, hospitals are always very warm without this weather.
Out of curiosity for myself sherr, do you know the name of the surgeon that did his op ?.

I'm worried be because his original symptoms were severe headache and vomiting. Don't know the name of the surgeon, sorry.
Yes those are the symptoms sherr, but I doubt very much if it's another bleed.
Could you not phone the ward, put your mind at ease.

I've just rang the hospital (again, they must be sick of me). He's had some anti-sickness medicine and they say its quite normal. Just so hard when he is so far away and trying to be 'normal' for the kids.
I understand sherr, my wife went through the same as you. I can tell you that it tok a good few weeks just to get over the anesthetic with me.
Took.
Sherr, you must be so anxious, I know I would be. Hubby is being monitored closely and hopefully will improve gradually. It was an awful experience for you both. Sending you a hug ((( hug ))).

Thanks Flump, could do with a hug. Feel so guilty that we aren't there with him but it is so impractical. Four hour round trip yesterday, thing 2 was sick four times in the car (due to the heat and having a difficult week) and there's not much we can actually do for him if we were there. Would be so much easier if he was in the local hospital (understand he is in the best place though).
hospital say its quite normal. doesn't stop you worrying I know, I hope he feels better soon.
I can understand you worry not being with him. I am sure he is being well monitored and looked after. It is easy for us to say try not to worry, because of course you will, but I am sure he is in good hands.
Another bleed will have to be excluded if the headache and vomiting continue.

Just spoken to himself's friend (who has been brilliant and has being staying in Birmingham just to visit himself, and who has extended his stay so that he can go and visit him again tomorrow). Himself has spent most of the day dozing and they are giving him pain medication. The pain is normal apparently and is to be expected (cocky sod should probably have been a better patient yesterday).
Hello sherrardk ..just caught up with your troubles with your OH.
So sorry to hear about this and hope all comes right as soon as possible.
Know it's not a lot of help, but he is in the right place and they will be aware and monitoring.
Don't stress about phoning the hospital. When you need to , you need to, even if it's only a few minutes since you last phoned.
Try to look after yourself as well as everybody else.
Hugs. ladyalex :-))
