Who chose your name for you. Your parents or were they influenced by family and are you hapy with it ?
Apparently my uncle chose mine as mum and dad had run out of ideas as I was 7th child born (lucky) and all have 2 names each. Im happy with both my names

My mother and I'm happy with it although it's unusual and people get it wrong. I'm very glad I wasn't a boy as I was going to be called Jeremy.
The name I'm known as was chosen by my adopted parents, I was originally called something else, but have no idea who chose that.
Forgot to say, I'm quite happy with the adopted name, the birth name doesn't suit me at all IMO.
My father chose mine because my mother was desperately ill. I suppose I should thank my lucky stars that he didn't employ a family tradition of naming his daughters after his prize cows..........(you think I'm joking!)

Yours, Ermentrude.
First born daughters always got the name of our grandmother....My dad was one of seventeen children.....when we have a family get together and my name is called out at least thirteen of us stand up...:-(
Am I happy with it?....Not one bit...Not because of the cousins...I just don't like the name...x
Born in England on St Patrick's Day - obviously I was going to be named after the Patron Saint of ....

... Wales.

Don't like 'David' at all ... happy enough to be a 'Dave'
My da picked my name. It's the same as one of the characters from his favourite book.
I was quite small so I sorta brought my name with me
My dad wanted to call me Melanie, but my mum thought I would get called Melon-head at school so overruled him.

Not sure why she thought I would get called that, I don't have a large head! But I suppose she had just squeezed me out of a small exit so she may argue that point.

I used to hate my name as a song with the same title came out a year or so later and old relatives used to sing it to me every time they saw me. Hideous song and I was always mortified.
Sandy- rumpelstiltskin?
No. ;-) But here's a clue. The author is Irish.
ok, not much of a clue
As bad as mine. 2sp? No secret that I am Mary and every blasted nephew and niece is taught to sing how Auntie Mary got rid of the canary from the leg of her drawers....:-(
Oh. Shame :-(.
Thomas, Percy, Henry ?

Hopefully not Fat Controller :+)
"No. ;-) But here's a clue. The author is Irish.
ok, not much of a clue "

Not Estragon I hope!
And preferably Stephen not Leopold I suppose ...
My Christian name of Michael came from my Father's Mum's brother, my great uncle Mike. My second name of John was my Mums's father's name.
my dad chose mine and although i like my name i would of liked one from my mothers side as well
A better clue than I thought, apparently. Ichkeria has it in those three.
My mum and dad, both being speedway fans in the late 1940's, named me after a world champion. Graham "The Blonde Bombshell" Warren rode for Birmingham in 1949. My last name is not Warren by the way.
Oh that's a shame Sandy, I was hoping it was this one. ;-)
