Should She See A Doctor?
37 Answers
Hi,
Last night my daughter [16] had what she thought was one of her migraines. She has maybe 5 or six a year and these always end in her being sick and sleeping for about 14 hour.
Last night however she was repeatedly sick, shaking violently and really quite ill [she must have been she slept in my bed bless her]. This morning she felt better but just now am angry rash has appeared on her neck.. it doesn't disappear under a glass. That said she feels better with in herself but still has a headache.
Doctors or not?

Unrousable Tuesday morning, taken to A&E in a coma, bacterial meningitis diagnosed Wed and died Sunday thanks to the Liverpool Care Pathway having never come round.
Anyway that's not to worry you Lisa, personally I'd definitely contact the doctor asap. Better safe than sorry.

Hey guys... panic over!
Looks like a worsening of her migraine symptoms... so no meningitis here
thankfully!
You should have got her earlier Sqad ;0) As for the rash... it looks like where she was so violently sick it has broken some blood vessels [hence it not disappearing [had two other doctors to verify that].
So she has now been given medication that will hopefully stop the migraine in its stride!

Glad it's nothing serious. When I had what they thought was meningitis (said my brain had swollen, virus but not the bacterial one as lumbar puncture ok). I went downhill as things went on. I get some bad headaches anyway but that was something else, coupled with the light thing. My friend rang NHS Direct who sent an ambulance which came sirens and flashy lights up the road very soon after, ended up in Leeds General then was transferred in another ambulance to an infectious diseases unit on a separate site to be told they thought I had meningitis and were going to do a lumbar puncture. I was hearing voices by that point! It took me a while to recover. I apparently had a rash though I didn't realise it - I remember the NHS Direct people asking my friend to check as she was looking while on the phone and the paramedics checking when they got there. I was past being able to check myself at that point though.
